Carolyn Cook Craig

Carolyn Cook Craig, 104, of Granite Falls, went to her final home to be with Jesus, Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2023.

She was born March 26, 1918, in Caldwell County, to the late Oliver Lenoir Cook and Ella Morris Cook. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd W. Craig; three sons, Dennis F. Craig, Wayne E. Craig, and Fred W. Craig; two sisters, Artie Mae Turney and Almeta Short; two brothers, Fred Cook and Sherman Cook; daughter-in-law, Charlotte Craig; and grandson, Shannon Craig.

Mrs. Craig was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church where she loved working in the children's department and singing in the choir. She was a homemaker and worked at Belk department store for many years.

She is survived by two daughters, Wanda Heffner and husband, Johnny, of Valdese, and Mildred Hall and husband, Terry, of Lenoir; two daughters-in-law, Lillian A. Craig of Granite Falls, and Lynda C. Craig of Hickory; one brother, Wilson Cook of Lincolnton; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, Jan. 22, at 4 p.m., at Union Grove Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Sam Craven and the Rev. Jeff Lambert. Burial will immediately follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive from 3 to 4 p.m. at the church, one hour prior to the service. Pallbearers will be Ronnie Craig, Scott Craig, Alan Hall, Ron Craig, Don Craig, and Larry Cook.
