Carolyn Ann Frail

Carolyn Ann Frail, 77, of Lima, Ohio died on Thursday, July 12, 2012, at 9:42 P.M. at Lima Memorial Health System (LMH) in Lima, Ohio. She was born January 30, 1935 in Lima to Elsie (Wetzel) Cantieny and Richard H. Cantieny. Carolyn married Thomas E. Frail on December 22, 1956; they had been married 56 years. She graduated from Central High School in 1953 and attended Ohio University, Athens where she was a member of the Alpha XI Delta Sorority and received her teaching certificate. Carolyn taught at Washington McKinley Elementary School, Lima and also was the Pre-School Teacher and Administrator at High Street United Methodist Church for 19 years. After retiring from teaching she became very active in the LMH Auxiliary where she held various officer positions and managed the LMH gift shop. She earned her life membership with the auxiliary in 2006. Carolyn was a member of Westside United Methodist Church (formerly High St. United Methodist Church) where she taught Sunday School and was active in all children's ministries and also served on the Pre-School Committee. Carolyn had a special gift for reaching and teaching young children and touched countless children's lives with her patience and energy. She was also extremely artistic and was able to make beautiful craft and floral arrangements with her hands. Her sense of style and creativity were one of her many unique gifts. She along with her husband Tom were awarded the "Golden Deeds" Award by the Lima Exchange Club in 2010. Together they were honored for their service to the community, Church and especially to LMH where they logged over 15,000 hours of service. Carolyn was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Her quiet strength and strong faith in God touched the lives of all who knew her. Surviving are: two daughters, Laura (Jason) Waltz of Lima, OH and Natalie (Mike) Schaublin of Westerville, OH; four grandchildren who were her pride and joy, Tom (Fiancee, Nicole Bail) Waltz of Fairmont, WV, Katy Jo Waltz, Lima, Ohio, Matthew Schaublin of Bloomington, Indiana and Kevin Schaublin of Westerville, Ohio; a sister, JoAnn Cantieny of Titusville, FL. A Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Monday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home with the Rev. William Cronk officiating. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Lima, OH. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Sunday, July 15, 2012, at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home.
