Patricia Hall Strong, October 7, 1942 – November 4, 2025

The fabulous Patricia Hall Strong, Certified Public Accountant and Certified Valuation Analyst, took her leave late at night on November 4, 2025, and moved on to the other side of the Rainbow Bridge, where she will be in the company of all the cats, dogs, and horses that she knew and loved in this life. While there, she will wait for her beloved cats Mademoiselle Chanel and Lord London to join her.

Patricia was born October 7, 1942, in Auburn, NY to John and Chrystal (Soper) Hall. She grew up in Troy, PA, where her father owned a Chevrolet dealership. Because her father supplied her with the best cars in town, the boys in Troy regularly challenged her to drag races. A few of them she won. When she wasn't racing her car on the Pennsylvania back roads, she was riding Ricky the Pony, cheerleading at the high school basketball games, camping with her Girl Scout troop, or learning about business from her father.

After Patricia earned an Associate's degree from Centenary College for Women in New Jersey, she married Robert Strong. While he worked on his pharmacy degree at Temple University, she worked at John Wannamaker's department store in Philadelphia. The couple returned to Northeast Pennsylvania where they started a family and purchased Coles Pharmacy in Mansfield, PA. While the drug store did well their marriage, sadly, did not, and the couple divorced.

Her second husband, Albert Cotoia, brought Patricia and her children to Cape Cod in 1974. She raised her family in Marstons Mills and learned to love boating and the ocean. Along the way she owned the Sandpiper night club in Hyannis and the Harborview Inn in Cotuit. Eventually, she decided to become a CPA. So, back to school she went, first attending Cape Cod Community College, and then commuting off Cape to what is now UMass Dartmouth to earn an accounting degree.

After working several years for other CPAs, Patricia started her own practice in 1998. For the next 27 years she poured her heart and soul into her business, cherishing the relationships she built with her clients, who became dear friends. Her work was never just about numbers-it was about the people, the trust, and the connections that made her practice her life's joy.

As all who knew her would tell you, she had her own unique style. She loved colorful clothes, whether they be high end designers or comfy Joe Boxer fleece pants from K-Mart. Her love of color extended to her condo in Osterville, her home since 2000. She hired an artist to paint flowers and landscapes on the walls and ceilings. Also on display were paintings, drawings, and assorted treasures from her travels throughout Europe, Canada, the US, and St. Barth's.

In both her office and her home, Patricia had signs on the wall that read, "She believed she could, so she did." That motto perfectly captured how she lived her life. She was a determined, intelligent woman who built the life she wanted through sheer will and hard work. Yet, her strength was balanced by her kind, caring, and generous nature, always taking a genuine interest in those she met. And while she loved the people in her life, cats held a special place in her heart. For most of her life, she was accompanied by a beloved feline companion-or two, or three-whose presence brought her constant joy.

In addition to her cats, Patricia is survived by her son, David Strong (Nadine) of Las Cruces, NM; her daughter, Jennifer Strong (Robert Munger) of Melrose, MA; and her grandchildren Alicia Strong of Tampa, FL; Nicole Strong (Chandler McLaughlin) of Kittery, ME; Emeline Black (Braden) of Waco, TX; and Kristopher Catterall (Eva) of Lexington, MA, as well as three great-granddaughters.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to New England Society for Abandoned Animals (nesaa.org), PO Box 626, Osterville, MA 02655; Polar Bears International (polarbearsinternational.org), P.O. Box 3008, Bozeman, MT 59772; or VNA of Cape Cod Hospice (support.givetocapecodhealth.org/donate), CCHC Foundation, PO Box 370, Hyannis, MA 02639 (please note VNA Hospice in memo).

The family plans to hold a Celebration of Life in the spring.
