Carolyn Larue Halbert, 82, of Midlothian, Texas, passed away peacefully on July 26, 2025. She was born on November 25, 1942, in Hubbard, Texas, to Albert Pasley and Geneva Wilson Pasley.
Carolyn was the beloved wife of the late Billy Halbert, with whom she shared 65 wonderful years of marriage. She was a devoted mother to her three sons—Gary, Darren, and Jarrod—and is preceded in death by her daughter, Brenda.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Geneva Pasley; her sister, Dolores Foster; and her beloved husband, Billy Halbert. She is survived by her sister, Judy Nolen, who remained a loving and supportive presence throughout her life.
Carolyn’s legacy continues through her five grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren (with one on the way), and two great-great-grandchildren (with one on the way). Her family was her pride and joy, and she cherished each generation deeply.
A woman of unwavering faith, Carolyn was a devoted member of the Cowboy Church of Ellis County for the past 25 years. She was deeply religious and faithfully followed scripture. Always a gracious encourager, she frequently invited friends, family, and even strangers to attend church with her—sharing her love for Christ with warmth and sincerity.
Carolyn will also be remembered by many as the one who always made sure you were fed—whether at the concession stand during Playdays or serving meals at the church during buck outs. Her generous heart and helping hands were always there, offering comfort and kindness in the form of a warm plate and a welcoming smile.
She now rests alongside her beloved husband, daughter, parents, and sister—reunited in peace.
