Carolyn Lee (Ostrander) Hartshorn passed away April 27, 2022, after a short illness. Her daughter was by her side as she passed peacefully.
She was born November 1, 1939, to Arthur and Irene Ostrander and grew up in Elmira NY. She was a local beauty queen and regularly kept in touch with many of her friends from her high school South Side High, of Elmira NY. In the late 1960's she lived in Fort Worth Texas, then moving to California in 1969 and finally retiring in Pine, CO in 1992 with her husband of 40 years.
Carolyn is survived by her husband of 40 years Robert L. Hartshorn; Children M'liss (Edward) Gillen, Lisa (Cliff) Kessler, Sean Hartshorn and Hether (Chad) Lehman; 8 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren; And her precious pup Lady Kelly.
Carolyn was devoted to her husband and traveled the world extensively and loved to experience new things. She was a veteran of the United States Naval Reserves. A leader in her community and was the President of the Woman's Republican Club of Jefferson County, CO. In retirement Carolyn spent many of hours volunteering in her community and worked on several beautification committees in both California and Pine Colorado.
She was an avid skier, love to go antiquing and garage selling in her down time. She loved old movies, and history and could easily problem solve any situation.
Per her wishes, her ashes will be scattered later when all her immediate family can gather. A virtual celebration of life will be held for her on Sunday, June 12, 2022, at 12pm PST.
