Carolyn Hughes Herbert, 81, passed away on Tuesday, February 18, 2025. A lifelong resident of Houston County, Carolyn was born on March 29, 1943, to the late Orie Homer and Janette Thornton Hughes.
Carolyn graduated from Warner Robins High School in 1961 and went on to have a successful 35-year career at Bank of America. Involved in her community, Carolyn was a member of the Red Hat Club, the Warner Robins Women’s Club, and a lifetime member of the Warner Robins Touchdown Club.
Carolyn’s greatest joy came from the love devoted to her family, especially her grandchildren. She cherished spending time with each of them. Carolyn also fondly remembered the nine years she spent living in Panama City Beach. Florida, with the love of her life, Wyman, where they created lasting memories.
In addition to her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Wyman Herbert; as well as siblings, Abbie Price and Buddy Hughes.
Her memory will forever be treasured by her children, Jay (Sandra) and Chuck (Kim) Herbert, all of Warner Robins; and grandchildren, Harrison and Will Herbert; brother, Bob Hughes; beloved 15-year-old Shih Tzu, “Sophie;” as well as several other beloved extended family members and friends.
A visitation with Carolyn’s family and friends will be on Sunday, February 23, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Afterward, Carolyn Herbert will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery.
