Carolyn "Sabrina" Jones, 58, of Independence, Missouri, went home to be with Jesus on October 21, 2025, at 4:28 p.m., surrounded by her family at home-just where she wanted to be. She faced cancer with extraordinary courage and grace, and although her body grew tired, cancer did not win-she did. She is now whole and free in the presence of her Heavenly Father.

Born August 18, 1967, in Clinton, Missouri, Sabrina built a life marked by creativity, hard work, and a generous heart. She was a proud small-business owner of Brini's Bags, as an independent MICHE bag distributor-and most recently served as a Peer Support Specialist with Compass Health, where she encouraged others with compassion and hope. She loved being part of Point of Hope Church in Blue Springs and was known for her kindness, quick smile, most beautiful blue eyes, and the way she always cared deeply for others. She had a deep love for all animals and always searched for ways to save them all.

Sabrina's greatest joy in life was her family. She is lovingly remembered by her parents, Coretha Barlow (Bruce Barlow) of Independence, Missouri; John Wiseman (Sandra Wiseman) of Warsaw, Missouri; Sister, Kathy Wiseman Johnson (Steve Johnson) of Omaha Nebraska; her sons, Levi Riley (Shannon Hughes Riley) of Lee's Summit, Missouri, and Zachary Jones of Lee's Summit, Missouri; her grandson, Walker Riley, who will forever know her as "Gigi" his guardian angel; her nieces Karly Johnson of Brighton, Colorado; Lauren Johnson of Omaha, Nebraska; and nephew Ben Johnson of Omaha, Nebraska; and her lifelong best friend and partner Micheal Crough, of Abilene Kansas. She is also cherished by extended family including many cousins she called "sister cousins", loving aunts, church family, and many dear friends she considered family. She was preceded in death by her biological father, Nick Smith of Warsaw Missouri, and many loved ones who now welcome and celebrate her in heaven.

We will honor Sabrina's wishes with a private celebration of life at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, Sabrina requested memorials to the St. Croix Sea Turtle Project or The University of Kansas Cancer Center, Research.

"But those who trust the Lord will find new strength. They will be strong like eagles soaring upward on wings; they will walk and run without getting tired." –Isaiah 40:31

"Well done, good and faithful servant… Enter into the joy of your Lord." - Matthew 25:23
