Carolyn "Kay" Kaylor
Staunton, Illinois - Carolyn "Kay" S. Kaylor, 86, passed away Saturday, September 13, 2025, at Staunton Community Hospital.
She was born on July 6, 1939 in Shawneetown, Illinois, to Floyd and Mary (Ralph) Maynard. Kay married James 'Jim" Kaylor in Alton, Illinois, on April 22, 1960 and he preceded her in death on June 25, 2022.
She was a member of the 1st Baptist Church of Cottage Hills and enjoyed spending time with her grandkids and great-grandkids as well as going to Leisure World.
Kay is survived by a daughter, Ardie (Steve) Johnson of Prairietown; grandchildren, Steve Johnson, Jr. of Worden, and Jamie (Kevin) McGarvey of Bethalto; great-grandchildren, Cameron and Katie McGarvey, and Jakob Johnson; a brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, William "Bill" (Delores) Kaylor of Wood River, Pat Kaylor of Dorchester, Linda Maynard of Bethalto, and Becky Maynard of Texas.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Gloria Godwitz, Ruth Wilson, Shirley Lawson, and an infant sister, Phyllis Jean Maynard; and three brothers, Robert Maynard, Eugene Maynard, and David Maynard.
Visitation will be held Saturday, September 20, 2025 From 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m., at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto with Pastor Bob Battles officiating.
Burial will take place in Rose Lawn Memory Gardens.
