Carolyn Gay Leonard

Carolyn Gay (Grant) Leonard-age 60 of Washburn passed away Wednesday evening, July 9, 2025 at her home after a battle with cancer. She was born July 15, 1964 in Oak Ridge, Tennessee and was a member of Pennington Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. Preceded in death by parents, Glenn E. Grant, Sr. and Nancy Bryer Grant. Sons, Bobby Hamby; Daniel Shelton and wife, Tina; grandson, Donavon Shelton; sisters, Debbie Grant and Beth Shelton.
Survivors: husband, Billy Leonard; sons, Joe Leonard; James Leonard; brother and sister-in-law, Butch and Sue Grant; brother, Benji Grant; brother-in-law, Danny Shelton; step-son, Billy Wayne Leonard. 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Saturday, July 12, 2025 with the funeral service to follow at 7 p.m. Saturday, Cooke-Campbell Mortuary Chapel, Rev. Earl Russell officiating with music by Rev. Earl and Faye Russell along with Lisa Buckner. Interment 10 a.m. Sunday, July 13, 2025 at Boruff Cemetery, Washburn. Family and friends will meet at the cemetery 9:45 a.m. Sunday. Pallbearers: Elmer Nicely, Danny Leonard, Allen Mills, Nate Hyde, Cole Dalton, Levi Johnson. Arrangements by Cooke-Campbell mortuary, Maynardville.
