Carolyn Lorraine Long

Carolyn Lorraine Long, a beloved daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on March 22, 2024, in Charlotte, NC. She was a pillar of strength and support for her family and friends throughout her life.

Born on May 18, 1952 in Newberry, SC, Carolyn was known for her strong-willed nature and straightforward yet funny personality. She cherished spending time with her loved ones and was always there to hold them accountable and encourage them never to give up.

Carolyn's proudest accomplishment was her dedication to her work; she worked tirelessly up until the very end. In her free time, she enjoyed watching Tubi, cooking for her family, eating Chinese food and creating unforgettable memories with those closest to her.

She is preceded in death by her father David Long, mother Thelma Long, brother Jerry Long, brother Buddy Long, and sister Shirley Long. Carolyn is survived by her daughter Kerone Mills, son Shaun Mills, son Kenny Smith Jr., grandchildren Breon Mills, Brandon Young, Nihzaia Mills, Diauvanni Thomas, Taquise Wadsworth, Tayviona Smith, Kennedy Smith, great-grandchildren Ashton Mills, Azya Young, Kairi Mills as well as beloved sisters; brothers; nieces; nephews; and many more family members who adored her.

Services to celebrate Carolyn's life will be held on March 30th at the Raymer-Kepner Chapel in Huntersville. The visitation will take place from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM followed by the funeral service from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

Carolyn Lorraine Long will be deeply missed but forever remembered for her unwavering love and dedication to her family and friends. May she rest in peace knowing that she touched the lives of many with her kindness and support.
