Carolyn Marsala, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on November 5, 2025, at the age of 81. Born on June 30, 1944, Carolyn's life was marked by her dedication to family, love for her hobbies, and spirit of adventure.
A graduate of Mercy High School, Carolyn embraced life with warmth and enthusiasm. She found great joy in watching her husband, Gus Marsala, bowl—a passion that became a cherished tradition. Their shared love for this sport took them on many travels, where Carolyn reveled in the excitement of cheering Gus on from the sidelines.
Her interests extended beyond bowling; Carolyn enjoyed the camaraderie of playing cards, particularly rummy, often bringing together family and friends for friendly competition and laughter. She was also an enthusiastic baker, filling her home with delightful aromas and sweet treats that brought joy to those around her. Above all, Carolyn cherished the moments spent with her grandchildren, instilling in them the values of love, kindness, and togetherness.
Carolyn is survived by her devoted husband of 56 years, Gus Marsala; her two daughters, Deborah (Mark) Hohenshell and Cynthia (David) Havens-Marsala; three grandchildren, Elizabeth (Nathan) Delcour, Cherie (Aaron) Mohr, and Dustin Koetter; six great-grandchildren, Garrett Delcour, Johannah Mohr, Jack Delcour, Abigail Mohr, Judah Mohr, and Lydia Mohr; as well as a host of other family members and friends who will miss her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Suftko; mother, Ceceila Suftko; and two brothers, Donald (Rosalie) Suftko and Joseph Suftko.
Carolyn's legacy of love and joy will forever resonate within the hearts of all who knew her. She leaves behind not just memories, but a profound influence on those fortunate enough to share in her life. Her spirit will continue to shine brightly through the lives she touched.
