Carolyn Sue McCoy, 83, of Webster City, Iowa, passed away on Monday, December 1, 2025, at her home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., on Monday, December 15, 2025, at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Webster City. Fr. Frances Kwame Anane will officiate. Inurnment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Webster City. Carolyn Sue Lillegard was born on July 26, 1942, in Blairsburg, Iowa, the daughter of Wendell and Anna (Graham) Lillegard. She graduated from Webster City High School in 1959.
On November 26, 1966, Carolyn was united in marriage to Ron McCoy at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Webster City. They were blessed with two sons, Sean Michael and Joseph Patrick McCoy.
Carolyn and Ron owned and operated McCoy’s convenience stores in Webster City for many years until they retired. Carolyn was devoted to St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church.
As a homemaker, wife, and mother, Carolyn made her home a welcoming place for family and friends. Carolyn loved being a grandma & spending time with her grandkids. She embraced life fully and was always up for an adventure with her husband, children, and friends. Many cherished memories were made during days spent on, in, or near the Boone River.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Janice (Tom) Nielson and Pam (Paul) Tew.
Carolyn’s memory lives on in her husband of 59 years, Ron McCoy of Webster City, IA; two sons, Sean (Amy) McCoy of Webster City, IA, and Patrick (Michelle) McCoy of Estherville, IA; four grandchildren, Mikaleh, Bryer, Joel (Kayla), and Lena McCoy; her great-granddaughter, Tatum McCoy; brother, Alan VanHoozer of Kansas City, KS; brother-in-law, Paul Tew; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
