Carolyn Monroe

Carolyn Yvonne Lester Monroe was born to Leonard Lester and Oralee Henson on July 31, 1944.

She grew up and attended school in Purcell, Oklahoma, and after graduation, moved to Oklahoma City. It was there she met and married Roger Monroe. Together they had two children, Robyn and Blair. Though they later divorced, Carolyn remained devoted to her home, her children, and her grandchildren.

Carolyn was a hard worker and a beautiful woman with an eye for beautiful things. She had a deep love for pretty colors, stylish clothes, decorating, gardening, and beauty products. She spent many years as a consultant for Estée Lauder cosmetics at Dillard's. Above all, she loved her family.

Carolyn passed away on August 3, 2025, after a lengthy illness.

She is survived by her daughter, Robyn Moore, and husband Bob of Norman. Also surviving are her grandchildren: Wesley Monroe, MacKenzie Monroe, Nash Moore, Hannah Anthony, Charley Ellis, and Devin Ramirez. Her nieces and nephews include Debbie White, Neta Hill, Eddie Hill, Janna Hill, Andrea McNeily, Toni McNeily, Amy McNeily, Lance Lester, and Tony Lester.

She was preceded in death by her son, Blair; her sister, Linda Macmillen; brothers, Harlan and Wayne Lester; and her nephew, Jackie Hill.

Services will be held on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at John Ireland Funeral Home, with interment to follow at Hillside Cemetery in Purcell, Oklahoma.
