Ethel Sensibaugh Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by John M. Ireland & Son Funeral Home and Chapel on Nov. 28, 2025.
Ethel Marie Sensibaugh was born on August 8, 1955, and passed from this life on November 23, 2025. Ethel was a bright light who lit up every room she entered. Her friendly, welcoming nature made everyone feel at home, and her life was marked by service, love, and genuine care for others. She never met a stranger and had an incredible gift for making people feel seen and valued.
Ethel lived out her faith in the Lord daily. For over 20 years, she was a devoted member of Billy Hooten Memorial United Methodist Church, where her generosity and compassionate spirit touched countless lives. She cared deeply for people from all walks of life and had a special heart for those in need. As a dedicated volunteer in the church's food bank, she worked tirelessly to ensure no one went without. Whenever the church doors were open, Ethel was there ready to help, serve, and show love.
Family meant everything to Ethel. She treasured spending time with her loved ones, whether during holidays or while taking trips with her husband, Jimmy, to McAlester, Oklahoma. She was a constant support to her daughter, always ready to help with appointments or anything that was needed. Ethel delighted in family gatherings, especially holidays filled with laughter, jokes, and cherished memories.
In recent years, she discovered a love for thrift shopping and enjoyed finding little treasures and good bargains. Her joyful spirit, big heart, and encouraging words lifted the spirits of everyone she met. Ethel made friends easily and left a lasting impact on those who appreciated her servant's heart and unshakable joy.
Ethel is survived by her daughter, Peggy Sensibaugh; her sisters, Jo Wynn and Mary Bussing; her granddaughter, Ariel Sensibaugh; and many other loving family members and friends.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Jimmy Lee Sensibaugh; her parents, Milton and Peggy Dewbre; and her sisters, Velma Gilbreath, Alma Joy Baugus, and Carletta Joetta Brown. Ethel's unwavering kindness, faith, and joyful spirit will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.
