Carolyn Ella Samuelson (nee Crain), of Saint Peters, MO, passed away Sunday, March 6, 2022, at the age of 59. Beloved wife of the late Richard L. Samuelson; loving daughter of Carol Conner and the late Walter Crain. Devoted mother of Richard "Harley" (Lauren Goeke) Samuelson and Sara (Sarath Kumpatla) Samuelson; one anxiously awaited grandson, Harrison Samuelson; dear sister of Carl (Robin) Crain, nephews, William "Bill" (Brandi) Crain and Robert "Bobby" (Casi) Crain, step-sisters, Joyce Lucash and Carolyn Smith. She is preceded in death by her husband, father and step-father, Ralph Conner.
Carolyn devoted her life to children and education. She earned her doctorate at Maryville University. She was a dedicated teacher in the Wentzville School District where she was awarded Teacher of the Year for 2021 – 2022. Education was so important to Carolyn and she took pride in being a mentor to many. She was patient and determined, a quality many admired about her. Above all, family was important to Carolyn. She was a proud mother and eager grandmother. She was kind to everyone and never met a stranger. In her free time you would find Carolyn enjoying the outdoors. She loved fishing, kayaking and gardening. She had a soft place in her heart for Abe but enjoyed the company of all her dogs. Carolyn was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Memorials may be made in Carolyn's name to Down Syndrome Association of Greater St. Louis.
Baue Funeral Homes is currently following CDC recommendations regarding mask and social distancing policies.

My prayers are with the Samuelson and Cain families. I met Carolyn years ago when she had Harley and Sara at a summer camp at United Services. Later on, we both were hired at Wentzville School District and worked together at Heritage Primary for 2 years. Her love for children and calm nature will definitely be missed. Heaven gained a wonderful angel for sure! Peace and prayers.
