Carolynn Esther Granquist

Carolynn Esther (Olson) Granquist Carolynn Esther Granquist (nee Olson) age 92, died Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at Johanna Shores in Arden Hills, Minnesota. She was born May 13, 1933 in Chicago, Illinois to Evelyn (Peterson) and Leonard R. Olson, Sr. She grew up in Chicago, Hammond, Indiana, and Constantine, Michigan, and graduated in 1954 with the RN degree from the Lutheran Hospital Nursing School in Moline, Illinois. She married Kenneth Harold Granquist of Duluth, Minnesota on November 27, 1954, and together they served Lutheran congregations around the Chicago area, and finally in south Minneapolis. Carolynn also worked as a nurse for many years in the Chicago area and in the Twin Cities. In retirement in Arden Hills, they loved to travel and spend time with their family. Carolynn was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Kenneth, and her brother Leonard R. Olson, Jr. She is survived by her brother, Alan Olson (Kay) of Seattle; children Mark (Kathy) Granquist, Northfield, Minnesota, Bruce (Ketut) Granquist of Bali, Indonesia, and Kristin (Steve) Teipel of St. Paul; grandchildren Elisabeth (Blaine) Alderks, Robert (Candice Jones) Granquist, Maddie (Ian Gallagher) Teipel, Natalia (Folarin Bandele) Granquist; great-granddaughters Eleanor and Vivienne Alderks; and many nieces and nephews. Service Friday, August 22, at Incarnation Lutheran Church, 4880 Hodgeson Road, Shoreview; visitation at 10:00 am and service at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Incarnation Lutheran Church.
