Mrs. Cooper is survived by her loving husband of 35 years, Daniel "DD" Cooper Sr.; father, Michael Mefford; mother, Linda Mefford; son, Daniel "Danny" Cooper Jr. (Stephanie); sister, Amy Jo Fulmer (Scott); brother, Charles Mefford (Debra); sister-in-law, Serena Sidner (Scott); brother-in-law, Clint Perdue (Katie); and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
From a young age, Carrie radiated warmth, kindness, and creativity-qualities that continued to define her throughout her life. Carrie married the love of her life, Daniel "DD" Cooper Sr., and together they built a home filled with laughter, faith, and devotion. She was a proud and loving mother to their son, Daniel "Danny" Cooper Jr., and his wife, Stephanie, who brought her immeasurable joy.
Carrie loved photography and owned her own studio. She had a deep passion for capturing the beauty of God's creation through her lens and was a proud member of the Alabama Arabian Horse Association, where she also shared her talents as a photographer. Her artistic eye and love for life earned her numerous national and international awards for photography.
She was actively involved in her community, serving as an Autaugaville Councilwoman and Mayor Pro Tem, a member of InfraGard, and President of Alabama Mounted Search and Rescue, Inc. Carrie's dedication and leadership left a lasting impact on everyone she worked with.
She loved motorcycles-especially her Harley-and spending time at the beach, where she found peace and inspiration. Known for her generous heart, Carrie was famous for "adopting strays," both people and animals alike. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, and mother whose bullheadedness often got her both into and out of trouble, but always with a smile and a story to tell.
Carrie faced her battle with breast cancer with extraordinary strength, courage, and determination. She fought with everything she had, never allowing the disease to define her or take away her spirit. Through every challenge, she showed grit, humor, and resilience, inspiring everyone around her with her toughness and unwavering will to keep going. Her strength and perseverance will forever remain an example to all who knew her.
Carrie leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and hope. She taught those who knew her to live boldly, love deeply, and never give up. Though she is no longer with us in body, her spirit lives on in the hearts of those she touched and the countless memories she created. Her light will continue to shine through her family, her art, and all who were blessed to know her.
