Carrie Lynn (Nelson) Cross, age 64, of Nekoosa, WI received her wings on August 10th, 2024, in Green Bay, WI.
Carrie was born on February 13th, 1960 to Donald and Eileen (Helmuth) Nelson of Nekoosa, WI. She married her high school sweetheart John P. Cross, and together they raised their children: Wesley (Nicole) Nelson, Jesse (Jessica) Nelson, and Jenny (Mario) Ostrum in Nekoosa.
For many years, Carrie worked as a preschool bus driver, and loved to play silly oldie songs for the little ones. Later in life she worked for the Ho-Chunk Nation.
Carrie enjoyed all things family related; along with camping, fishing, gardening, woodworking, and painting.
She is survived by her children, and grandchildren: Jared, Austin, Steven, Sierra, Remi, Morgan, Kristina, Faith, Allie, Dylan, Colby, Madelyn, Jace, Ezio, and Marcello.
While Carrie's health had been declining for a while, she made it her personal mission to live to meet her precious great grandchildren: Acker, Ophelia, Kora, and Benson. Brothers Walter (Gus) and Chris Nelson also survived Carrie; along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss her dearly.
Carrie is preceded in death by her parents, along with her beloved sisters Cynthia Olson and Gail Decorah, who were her best friends. She was at peace and ready to be reunited with them all once again.
Carrie's final wish was to celebrate her life in a very 'Carrie' way.. a parade in her honor will take place in lieu of a memorial service. Family and friends are welcome to gather near the 400 block of Buehler Avenue in Nekoosa at 1pm on Friday, August 23rd, with an outdoor BBQ meal to follow.
Feldner/Ritchay Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
