Phyllis A. Sternitzky, age 86, of Nekoosa, WI passed away on Sunday, September 7, 2025 at Arborwood Lodge Assisted Living in Wisconsin Rapids, WI.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, September 12, 2025 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Nekoosa, WI. Visitation will be held from 9:30 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM at the church. Burial rites will be held following the service at Riverside Cemetery in Nekoosa, WI.

Phyllis was born in Nekoosa, WI on August 20, 1939 to John and Bonnie Gotz. She graduated from Nekoosa High School in 1957. In August 1958, she married the love of her life, Doug Sternitzky. They had many happy years together before his death in 1998. She worked in Doug's insurance office for many years. When they weren't working, they were walking or riding their bikes. They also loved spending time with their family.

Phyllis loved the Lord, and spent many years in Bible classes. She always loved her church family and friends. She also had so much fun with her Birthday Club friends. Phyllis was most happy when she was outdoors tending to her flowers and yard. She also enjoyed cooking for her family on every holiday. Her sons Dean and Dale and her grandsons Nick and Ben meant the world to her.

Phyllis is survived by her son, Dean Sternitzky; grandsons, Nick and Ben Tenpas; brother, Patrick Gotz; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law; as well as her many neighbors who helped her over the years, especially Terry and Deb Schertz, who helped her with many meals.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband, Doug; son, Dale Sternitzky; brothers, Richard, John, Gerald, James, and Michael; sisters, Jean, Janet, and Judy; as well as many in-laws.

Dean, So sorry to see this about your mom. I have many great memories of her and Fluffy at Amoco. Phyllis was truly one of a kind and will be missed.
