Carrie M. Lorah, 84, of Hamburg passed away peacefully in her residence on Monday, June 16th.
Born in West Reading, on August 21, 1940, she was a daughter of the late Carrie E. (Rothenberger) and Daniel O. Lorah.
She was a life-long member of Bernville Mennonite Church.
Carrie worked at several garment factories in her earlier years and then at the Hamburg Center as an aide for many years where she was a devoted caretaker to her many patients who she loved dearly. She spent several years doing in-home private duty care.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by brothers: John, Harvey, Henry, and Charles Lorah; sisters: Nora Lorah, Gertrude Rothenberger, and Alice Shollenberger.
Carrie is survived by sisters: Esther Bixler, of Hamburg and Grace Trabosh, of Shoemakersville; several nieces and nephews; several great nieces and nephews; and great great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 21st, at 10 a.m. at Bernville Mennonite Church, 4 Henne Rd., Bernville, with the ministry: Paul Siegrist, Larry Weaver, Jason Ruppert, Nevin Ehast, Jonas Stoltzfus, and Ivan Stoltzfus officiating.
A viewing will be held on Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. in the church.
Interment will follow in Bernville Mennonite Cemetery, Bernville.
The family would like to thank her devoted caregivers: sister, Esther Bixler and niece, Linda Bixler; and her sisters from the church for their round the clock care provided for Carrie.
No flowers please.
