ALEXANDRIA----Carrie M. Wiswell, 61, passed away, Monday, September 1, 2025.

She was born April 12, 1964, in Lancaster, NH, one of seventeen children of Frederick C. and Doris V. (Maguire) Hand, Jr.

She grew up in in northern New Hampshire, graduating from N. Stratford High School. She worked at Tillotson Rubber Factory for many years before moving to Alexandria, NH. Locally she worked as an inspector at Freudenberg, in Bristol, NH.

In 1997, Carrie met and married Erwin Wiswell. They settled in Alexandria where Carrie spent her time gardening and canning her harvest. She was a real homebody and enjoyed reading, playing words with friends, and she loved to play the lottery.

She is survived by her siblings and their spouses or significant others; Gerard Hand, of Groveton, NH, Margaret "Peggy" (Steve) Willard, of Springfield, VT, Larry (Nancy) Hand, of Evans Mills, NY, Eleanor (Jody) Riley, of Beecher Falls, VT, Doris (John) Kennett, of North Stratford, NH, Donald (Norma) Hand, of Groveton NH, Jon (Sandra) Hand, of Stewartstown, NH, Connie Hand (Keith Smith), of Colebrook, NH, Lori (Moon) Howard, of Colebrook, NH, Dean (Rose) Hand, of Colebrook, NH, and Terri Hand (Mike Belouin), of Colebrook NH; many nieces and nephews, her sister-in-law Shelly (Scott) Brown and best friend Terri (Kevin) Cook.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by siblings: Raymond Hand, Wayne Hand, Mary Ann Hand, David Hand and Richard Hand.

There are no calling hours.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at 1pm at the Village Cemetery, 118 Main St., Colebrook.

For those wishing, the family suggests donation may be made in Carrie's memory to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741.
