Carroll A. "Beck" Beckelman Sr.

Carroll A. Beckelman Sr. affectionately known as "Beck", 85, of Roanoke Rapids, N.C. passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by family on December 31, 2024. Born on May 8,1939 in Washington D.C., Beck lived a life full of outdoor activities, hard work, and laughter.
Beck had a passion for hunting and fishing, and his enthusiasm was contagious. When something excited him-whether it was bagging a deer, reeling in a big fish, or heading back for seconds at the dinner table-he was known to shout his trademark phrase, "One more time!" Those words became a part of his legacy, symbolizing his zest for life and excitement for the things he loved.
A familiar face at the hunt club, Beck was more than just a skilled outdoorsman and an avid competition shooter. He took pride in telling stories, joking with fellow hunters and spinning tales that always ended in laughter. He was a charter member of Twin City Rifle Club and member of Pecan Grove Hunt Club. He also had a reputation for being a top-notch mechanic, owning and operating Beck's Auto Center for 30 years. As folks often said, "That man could shoot a gun and fix cars like nobody else."
He is survived by his sweet wife of 66 years, Judy Beckelman, his daughters, Connie Gibson (Jeff Gibson), Bonnie Simmons, Kimberly Beckelman, Melissa Warren, Holly Giles (Jeff Giles), his son Carroll A. Beckelman Jr.,10 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and his faithful canine companion (Precious) and German Shepherd (Shotsy).
A private family service was held on January 1, 2025 to reflect on Beck's life and the many cherished memories he leaves behind.
Beck's legacy will live on in the memories of every deer hunt, every car fixed to perfection, every story shared, and every time someone says, "One more time!". May his memory be a blessing and his stories bring smiles for years to come.
