Carroll was born at home in Middletown, Missouri on September 24, 1935 to Elbert Carroll Lemasters and Florence Alma Fitzgerald Lemasters. He grew up working on the family farm and was a 1953 graduate of Wellsville R1 High School.
Carroll married the love of his life, Bonnie June Barton, in 1961. They were blessed with three children: Udell (who survived four days), Lori, and Scott.
Carroll, or CV as he was often called, was a hard worker and entrepreneur, often running several businesses at a time. Some of these included farming, raising livestock, running multiple hay crews, and owning and operating the Middletown Dino Service Station. He retired from the Reliable Life Insurance Company in 1996 after 31 years with the company.
Carroll was also very active with the Lions Club at Bowling Green during the many years the family resided there. He loved life and was always up for an adventure. He enjoyed being outdoors, traveling, playing pranks on unsuspecting family and friends, singing in the church choir, and telling jokes. He loved to whistle, and you would often hear him whistling an old hymn or cheerful tune. Carroll never met a stranger and loved meeting new people.
He was a member of Middletown Baptist Church all of his adult life, serving for many years as a deacon, Sunday School Director, adult Sunday School teacher, and choir member. He was also a lifetime member of the Gideons in Montgomery City, Missouri. Carroll loved helping place bibles and was often moved to tears by the testimonies of lives changed through this work.
Carroll and Bonnie made several trips with Constructors For Christ, helping build churches around the country. They enjoyed being a part of this ministry whenever they could. They were also foster parents to many Pike County, MO children of all ages for 10 years, blessing many lives.
Carroll is survived by his wife of nearly 64 years, Bonnie Lemasters, son Scott Lemasters and wife Marcy of Middletown, and daughter Lori Pfautsch and husband Greg of Bowling Green. He is also survived by seven grandchildren: Joshua Adams and wife Carly of Ogden, Utah; Courtney Shaw of Bowling Green; Jonathon Lemasters of Middletown; Tara Jones and husband Justin of Dallas, Texas; Isaiah Lemasters and wife Laura of Auxvasse; Jessica Pfautsch of Hannibal; and Amie O'Neal and husband Kyle of Fenton. Great grandchildren include KateLynn Charlton, Tristan Charlton, Teddy Charlton, Tami Reynolds, Emma O'Neal, Katie O'Neal, Rowan Adams, Remington Adams, Killian Adams, Teegan Williams, Ezekiel Shaw, Alexander Adams, Caleb Adams, and Ellsie Adams.
Carroll was preceded in death by his parents, mother and father-in-law, infant son, and sisters Melva Batz and Myrtle Chandler.
Memorials may be made to the Gideons International in Montgomery City or to Pike County Hospice, care of Myers Funeral Home, Wellsville Missouri. Carroll would have no greater joy than to know that even in death; he is leaving a legacy of sharing the love of God.
