Carroll Lee Singletary, 97, of Irwinville, Georgia, died Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at his residence.

Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Saturday, November 15, 2025, at Irwinville Baptist Church in Irwinville, Georgia, with the Rev. Rex Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Irwinville Cemetery with the Rev. Scott Stringer officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Friday evening at the funeral home in Ocilla as well as one hour prior to the services at the church on Saturday.

Mr. Singletary was born February 10, 1928, in Colquitt County, Georgia, to the late Jeff Lee & Ruby Jewel Bruce Singletary. He had lived in the Irwinville community all of his life as his family was a part of the Irwinville Farms Project. He played basketball for the 1947 State Champion Irwinville Farmers team where he was the high scorer. He worked for the USDA ASCS office for 52 years, retiring as a crop reporter. Mr. Singletary also drove a school bus for many years for Irwin County. He enjoyed his work, could often be heard singing country music, and liked to watch ballgames. He was a member of Irwinville Baptist Church.

He is survived by his daughter, Linda Stark of Irwinville; his son and daughter-in-law, Phillip C. & Jane Singletary of Irwinville; four grandchildren: Stacy Mixon, Cristi Bennett, Shae (Kelly) Singletary and Chris Singletary; seven great-grandchildren: Cody & Chelsey Mixon, Cole Mixon, Will Mixon, Caralee Bennett, Brodie Singletary, Hayden Singletary, and Shelbi Singletary; two great-great-grandchildren: Cohen Mixon and Josie Mixon; and two sisters: Betty Jo Reeves and Ginger Stringer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Bettye Phillips Singletary; a brother, Buddy Singletary; and three sisters: Doris O'Connor, Faye Sumner, and Pat Stringer.

The family wishes to acknowledge Pruitt Health Hospice and all the sitters that lovingly cared for Mr. Singletary over the past few years.
