Carroll Williams Obituary

Published by Legacy on Jul. 24, 2024.
Carroll Edgar Williams - a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother- age 81 of Parker, Colorado, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Wednesday, July 17th, 2024. Carroll was born in San Antonio, Texas on January 14th, 1943 to Ada (née Eulert) and Claude Williams. Carroll graduated from North Kansas City High School in 1962 and began his 45-year career working for Trans World Airlines at the Kansas City, Missouri Overhaul Base. He started his employment at TWA in Fleet Service and worked up to a mechanic, where he spent most of his career working in avionics and the accessory shop. Carroll served his country as a reservist at the United States Naval Air Station in Olathe, Kansas, working as an aviation electrician's mate.
In 1970, Carroll's son, Craig, was born to him and his wife of six years, Clara Williams (née Burke). A few years later in 1976, Carroll's life was transformed through a relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. On August 11th, 1979, he was wed to Sherry Williams (née Hoos). His daughter, Corrie, was born to them in 1981. Together, he and Corrie made many memories on the softball field. Carroll's children remember him as a hard worker who encouraged them to pursue their goals.
A serious and detail-oriented man, Carroll taught himself auto mechanics and loved to work with tools. In retirement, he took it upon himself to rewire all the electrical in his home in Shawnee, using the internet to teach himself and to read electrical codes. He was a planner and would thoroughly prepare for so long that he might tire of the project and drop it. In recent years, he took an interest in helping like-minded political candidates, spending hours behind the wheel to help them campaign. Carroll also committed his time to getting acquainted with older veterans to hear their stories and serve and share God's love with them. Carroll preferred not to be in the spotlight, but he was never afraid to stand up for what was right. He dedicated his life to Christ after his conversion and enjoyed sharing his faith regularly at City Union Mission in Kansas City for many years. Carroll's love for others was often demonstrated through service. He knew his neighbors and made it a point to talk to them regularly.
Since retiring in 2008, Carroll has devoted himself wholeheartedly to loving his grandchildren and fostering a close relationship with them. He especially enjoyed taking them for bike rides and playing outside, as well as taking them for special outings and sharing stories from his childhood and teaching them about God. Nothing brought him greater joy than spending time with his family and serving the Lord.
Carroll was preceded in death by his mother, Ada, who died at age 40, and his father, Claude, who passed away at the age of 65, the year Carroll graduated from high school. Carroll is survived by his wife of nearly 45 years, Sherry Williams; his son, Craig Williams (Martin Leon) of Chicago, Illinois; his daughter, Corrie (Ryan) Maybrook, of Parker, Colorado; his grandchildren Megan and Molly Adams and Denver and Chanel Maybrook; his brother, Fred (Jan) Williams of Shawnee, Kansas; his sister, Eva Lyn Williams of Kansas City, Missouri; as well as many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to Southside Bible Church at 7050 S. Tucson Way, Centennial, Colorado 80112. The family would like to thank the staff and loving caregivers of Sky Ridge Medical Center, Lone Tree, Colorado for their diligent and untiring efforts in Carroll's care.
