Funeral services celebrating the precious life of Carson Leo Kotas, age 3, of Pataskala, will be held at Reed-Egan Funeral Home, 141 Green Wave Drive, Newark, 1 P.M., Monday, September 22, 2025, with Chaplain Cory Campbell as celebrant. Friends and family may call at the funeral home, 12-1 P.M., Monday, prior to the service. Private burial in Etna Cemetery will follow.

Carson was born in Columbus, Ohio, on January 3, 2022, to his loving parents, Andrew Kotas and Leah Baxley. Although his life was short, Carson's adventurous nature and curiosity about the world around him were that of every little boy. He enjoyed the outdoors and spent hours organizing his toys into perfect lines and structures. Even though his verbal skills were limited, Carson developed his own language of facial expressions and gestures that enabled him to communicate with those he loved in his own special way. He was a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Ohio State Buckeyes, and loved watching the crazy antics of the Minions and the movie "Boss Baby". His youthful spirit was described as "too pure for this earth".

He will be dearly missed by his parents; his sisters, Madison Kotas and Alexis Graves; aunts and uncles, Elizabeth Baxley, Stephen Baxley, and Kate, Thomas, and Kayla Kotas; great-aunts, Cali Smith and Olga Stavridis; paternal grandparents, Leo and Penny Charnas-Kotas; maternal grandparents, Steve and Tracy Baxley; maternal great-grandmother, Rhonda Pope; and several cousins.
