Well I was about 17 I suppose when I began seeing Dr Cox. As I grew into adult hood we spoke a lot about the world and things happening in it. I will miss our conversations. He will be greatly missed by many

Dr. Cox took care of my Moms, Ellen Gregory, for several years . Dr. Cox´s door was always open to me when I had questions about my Moms health or medication. We lost a good man.

Dr. Cox will can never be replaced and will never be forgotten. He, at one time or another, saved the life of a member of our family of four. He diagnosed my husband's heart valve failure, our son's unheard of heart condition, our daughter's neurologic condition and treated my bleeding ulcers. When I was working in surgery at MGH and we were swamped trying to get to the next case, he mopped the floor! One of the challenges he gave us was to read his handwriting! He left me an order in the Recovery Room I could not make out, none of the other nurses could figure it out, so I called him. He came and he could not make it out either!!!! So he reviewed the orders to be sure everything was covered! It was not unusual for me to get to my office and find a report under my door of some new development in treatment of something affecting our family. I pray God's blessings and comfort for his family and office staff. It is a blessing that we can be assured that he is in a much better place, reunited with Dr. Carter and they are probably looking for someone to help. Kay Allen, RN

I have many memories of Dr Cox, I worked with him for over 35 years my most memorable years were in the Emergency Room. Dr Cox covered the Emergency Room when he was on call for the hospital and as an emergency room physician. We were all happy when he was on call because he got the patients taken care of fast. If he saw that the ER was backed up he not only saw his patients but jumped in and started whoever needed care He seemed to have an air of excitement about him when he had more complicated cases. I think he just enjoyed working and seeing immediate results.
Dr Cox shared his knowledge, and he loved to teach and he trained me in many procedures and expected me to pass along to the nursing staff which I was happy to do.
Dr Cox took time to get to know the nursing staff. He asked about our families and if he had missed seeing one of the nurses for a while he would ask about them. If they were no longer employed at MGH he wanted to know why. We all enjoyed working with him and will greatly miss him and his wit

There are two many times to be able to tell you what he has done for me. He literally saved my life 3 different times. He found my cancer when no one else knew. He took care of me all thru my chemo. It didn´t matter that he didn´t take Medicaid he still took care of me. I am forever in his debt. Thank you Dr Cox. Donna Rushing!! We will always remember you!

I am a nurse and have worked with Dr Cox at many facilities. He was such a kind hearted man and cared about his patients and nurses he interacted with. Most doctors won´t do things nurses do. He was in the trenches with me placing foleys ect. He would always take my BP cuff off my cart... lol I would have to track him down and say "Dr Cox.. where did you put my cuff? " he would laugh at me and say " I don´t know you should know it´s your BP cuff. " Then he would smile at me as he put my BP cuff back on my cart. He will be missed by many . he was a kind-hearted man and I do not know who can ever fill his shoes as a man or physician .
