CASTLEWOOD, Va.

Carthel Stuart Bush, 81, died on Saturday, April 3, 2021, at his home.

He was born in Castlewood, Virginia, son of the late Stuart and Vileadia Bellamy Bush. He was preceded in death by his wife, Debbie Molinary Bush; and one sister, Betty Bush Yeary.

Carthel was a retired coal miner and a hard worker on the farm. He liked music, loved baseball, to play checkers, go fishing, and loved his animals, especially his dogs.

He is survived by one daughter, Kimberly Bouton and husband, Timothy of Castlewood, Virginia; one grandson, Trevor Bowen of Castlewood, Virginia; one sister, Edith Bush of Castlewood, Virginia; one brother, Tanner Bush of Castlewood, Virginia; and several nieces and nephews.

Following the COVID-19 restrictions set forth by the Governor of Virginia on face-covering requirements and social distancing, Funeral Services for Carthel Stuart Bush will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 7, 2021, in Castlewood Funeral Home Chapel in Castlewood, Virginia with the Rev. Tim Townes officiating. Interment will follow in Bush Family Cemetery in Castlewood, Virginia. Pallbearers will be Timothy Bouton, Randy Bush, Eddie Meade, Bruce Evans, Trevor Bowen, Trey Evans, and B.J. Crawford.

The family will receive friends from 12 until 1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 7, 2021, in Castlewood Funeral Home in Castlewood, Virginia. A radio broadcast of the service will be available on the Castlewood Funeral Home parking lot on radio station 88.9 FM during the service for those who would like to remain in your vehicle.
