Casey Lee Thornton, 7 months old, passed away on Friday, March 6, 2026, at Memorial Hospital. Casey was born on July 25, 2025, in Indianapolis, Indiana, at Riley Children's Hospital.

Though Casey's time on earth was brief, he brought immeasurable love and joy to his family. His bright presence filled the hearts of those around him, and he will forever remain a cherished and deeply loved child.

Casey is survived by his loving parents, Brian and Carly (Franks) Thornton of North Liberty, Indiana; his brothers, Connor Thornton and Cameron Thornton; his paternal grandfather, William F. Thornton; maternal grandparents, Jobie and Diania Franks; and great grandmother, Nora Kinas. He is also survived by his uncle, William R. Thornton, along with extended family members who loved him dearly. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Kathryn (Kinas) Hilliker.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Monday, March 16, at 2:00 p.m., at Palmer Funeral Home – Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan St., South Bend, IN 46614. Friends may visit with the family from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service.

Casey will be lovingly remembered and forever held in the hearts of his family. Though his life was short, the love he gave and the memories he created will remain for a lifetime.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Casey's honor may be given to Riley Hospital for Children, 705 Riley Hospital Dr., Indianapolis, IN 46202 or Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Indiana, 435 Limestone St., Indianapolis, IN 46202.
