Obituary of Cassandra LaVeeda Dorsey
Cassandra was born in Ameagle, West Virginia on June 15, 1949. She was the 4th out of 5 children to the late Joe David & Mary Alice Lambert.
She was preceded in death by her late husband Wayman Dorsey, 2 brothers Rodney Lambert (Brenda) & Joe Frazel Lambert and 1 sister LaVerne Williams. Cassandra moved to Cleveland, Ohio in 1971 where she started a new life with her 2-year-old son David Saunders. She entered into marriage with Wayman Dorsey on September 1, 1983. Out of this union, her daughter, Lynette, was born.
Cassandra was affectionately known by family and friends as "Veeda." Her strong faith in God allowed her to persevere through trials and tribulations. She attended and was a member of Unity Tabernacle Church of God for 30 years. She worked for the U.S. Coast Guard at the Federal Building as the department supervisor for the data entry operators. After leaving the US Coast Guard, she went on to pursue a degree in Medical Assisting through Remington College. She loved her job and enjoyed working with patients and the community. She retired as the office manager for Dr. Richard King
Internal Medicine and Geriatrics.
The battle with her health issues eventually led to her moving to Arizona to live with her children. Cassandra was an avid reader, loved traveling, taking photos, and making quilts for her grandchildren, as well as spending time with her family!
Cassandra will be lovingly remembered by her last surviving sibling, Vicki Weston, son, David Saunders (Kim), daughter Lynette Dorsey (Malcom) 7 grandchildren: Angelina, Alisha, Aleyah, Taylor, D.J., Bryce and Mason. 5 great grandchildren: Ava K., Ava W., Kaden, Ayla and Elijah and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
Service on Tuesday, May 16th, 2023 from 11 am to 2 pm.
Final Resting Place at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.

I miss my daily talks with my sister. Life is empty now without her. There are things you discuss with your siblings that you can't share with anyone else. I miss talking to her, laughing with her.

Veeda I love and miss you!

There are so many moments with my sister Cassandra that we laughed together, cried together, and I can't begin to describe just one. We took care of our Mother together when she was dying of cancer. We were both so young at that time, but we managed to keep it together. There is so much about her I miss. My daily phone calls, the long talks, just so many many things. I spoke with her the morning God decided to call her home. I heard her voice, we told each other we loved each other. So I will say this was God's gift to me to here her voice just one last time. Cassandra, I truly love and miss you. Your Baby Sis, Vicki.

Family, please accept our deepest and heartfelt condolences. We know that our dear cousin Veeda´s work here on earth is done. She has ascended to heaven to be with God, family, and other loved ones. We know that you will miss Veeda here on earth, but heaven has gained another angel to watch over the Wooding, Lambert, Saunder´s, and Dorsey families and friends. We´re praying that the grace of God and the love of family and friends bring you peace and comfort.
