Cassandra Deneane Walker, age 55, passed away on August 27, 2025 in Gulfport, MS. She was born on April 17, 1970 to the late James Harvey Ladner and Hilda Jean Lee Ladner.
Cassandra Walker was a woman whose heart was as big as her laugh and whose life was marked by love, faith, and generosity. A devoted Christian, she lived each day caring for others, never meeting a stranger, and always offering a helping hand. She was known for her kindness, her outspoken humor, and the warmth that made everyone feel at home.
Cassandra adored her family, especially her beloved daughter, Sara Barber, who was her pride and joy. Taking care of her family was not just a duty but her greatest passion. She was a lover and a caregiver, a true pillar of her family who gave all she had, even when she had little herself. She made friends everywhere she went, and those who knew her will never forget her sweet spirit, her amazing laugh, and the best dumplings ever cooked — dumplings that carried her love, her stories, and her joy in feeding others. Cassandra’s life was a testament to selfless love and unwavering faith. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Harvey Ladner and Hilda Jean Lee Ladner, and her brother, Donald Smith. Left to cherish her memory is her loving daughter, Sara Barber; sisters, Beth Smith and Michelle Lumpkin; brothers, Thomas Gregory Barber and James (Amber) Ladner; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of beloved friends. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Walker Family and ask that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers during these challenging times.
