Cassie Corinne Liebisch, 22, passed away peacefully, surrounded in love, on Wednesday, September 16, 2025. She was born on March 22, 2003, in Grayling, Michigan, to Ronald Liebisch and Kimberly (Zarzyski) Schneider.

She spent most of her childhood learning under the same roof where her mother taught at Lake City Schools, later graduating from Montague Public Schools. In those years, Cassie's brilliance shone brightest in her gymnastics clubs, the Water's Edge Gymnastics and Rising Starz Gymnastics. She poured her heart into every event, but it was on the floor that her spirit soared. With each routine, she wove her creativity into the choreography, adding laughter, sparkle, and a touch of mischief, always seeking to bring joy to her teammates and smiles to the crowd.

When gymnastics were no longer possible, Cassie found new arenas in which to shine. Traveling with her mother to countless hospitals across the country, she sought out others who knew the weight of invisible battles. She recognized their isolation, and she answered it with friendship. Even in the midst of her own fight, she offered compassion, humor, and light; helping others fasten their armor a little tighter.

After graduation, Cassie set her sights on the medical field. Though her body placed limits that her will could not overcome, she refused to let illness silence her strength. In hospital rooms where others might have yielded, Cassie took command of her own care, insisting on administering her medications even as her hands trembled. With quiet defiance, she showed the world that her independence, courage, and resolve would never be diminished.

Cassie found peace in Christian music, often resting her spirit in the words and melodies of Toby Mac. Those songs became more than sound, they were a refuge, a place where she could lay her burdens down and simply be. Christian music was something she and her mother shared, a bond woven through concert memories, harmonies, and hope. In those moments, Cassie could be carefree kid again, unburdened by battles. For her, Christian music was more than a pastime, it was her sanctuary, her church, a sacred space where her heart could sing even when her body could not.

Cassie's greatest gift was this: no matter how much she endured, she always chose to show up for others, to share her radiance, and to remind the world that kindness is the most enduring strength of all.

Cassie is survived by: her parents, Kimberly (Mark) Schneider, Ron (Teresa) Liebisch; grandparents, Ed and Elenor "Jackie" Zarzyski, Rolly and Andrea Schneider; stepsiblings, Remington Schneider, Cortland Schneider, and Annelyse Schneider; uncles, Eddy Jr. Zaryski, John Witte, and Justin Zarzyski; as well as many cousins, extended family members, and countless friends.

Cassie was preceded in death by her grandmother, Beverly Malenfant.

In accordance with Cassie's wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no services held.
