Cassondra "Cassie" Smith

Canandaigua – Cassondra "Cassie" Smith, age 35, passed away on Thursday, February 12, 2026, surrounded by her family and friends. She is survived by her son, Roman Shaver; parents, David and Jacqueline Smith; sister, Alexandra Smith; brother, David Smith, Jr.; aunts and uncles, Brenda (Brian) Jackson, Paula Smith, Craig (Cindy) Smith, Karen (Mike) Plate and Gary (Claudia) Smith; grandma, Gladys Robisheaux; several cousins; and many friends including Amanda Potter and Nicole Maynard. Cassie was predeceased by her Papa and Nana, Herbert Smith and Jeanette Taylor; and grandparents, Harry "Tweet" and Eleanor "Bunny" Smith.

Cassie was born in Canandaigua, attended Canandaigua schools and was a graduate of Canandaigua Academy, class of 2009. She worked as a bartender in Canandaigua and was well known with her regulars. Cassie was a pet lover and adored her dog, Diesel. She enjoyed music, the beach and the outdoors. Most of all, she loved spending time with her son. Those who knew Cassie knew she was a fierce and loyal friend with a big personality. She was a force of nature and even more stubborn. Cassie will be deeply missed.

Friends may call Saturday, February 28, from 12 – 2 pm, at Johnson-Kennedy Funeral Home, Inc., 47 N. Main St., Canandaigua. Her memorial service will immediately follow the visitation at the funeral home.
