Paul H. Coats

Canandaigua – Paul H. Coats, age 89, passed away peacefully, on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, after a short illness. He is survived by two sons, William P. Coats and Robert C. (Elena) Coats; three grandchildren, Kaitlin, Jason (Moriah) and Patrick (Alexis); five great-grandchildren, Pia, Kai, Malia, Ellie and Makayla; one great-great grandchild, Aubree; mother of his children, Joan M. Coats; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Barbara Woodhams Coats in 2025; and five siblings, Richard Coats, Clyde Coats, Lester Coats, Jerry Coats and Audrey Daffler.

Paul was born in Canandaigua and was the son of Claude and Aroline (Kintner) Coats. He attended Canandaigua schools and was a graduate of Canandaigua Academy. After high school, Paul worked on the family farm on Rte. 332 in Canandaigua, until 1966. He worked at Eastman Kodak Co. from 1966-1991. Paul drove a school bus for the Canandaigua City School District from 1993-2017.

He was a former member of the Canandaigua Moose Club. Paul was a tractor enthusiast who enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Friends may call Tuesday, February 10, from 5-7pm, at Johnson-Kennedy Funeral Home, Inc., 47 N. Main St., Canandaigua. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, February 11, at 10am, at Woodlawn Cemetery, 130 N. Pearl St., Canandaigua.
