Catherine (Kay) Alibrandi, at 91, most recently of Marshfield, formerly of Braintree and North Quincy died peacefully on Thursday, October 12 at South Shore Hospital after living a joyful and caring life. Kay was born in Boston, the daughter of the late Madeline (Calapai) Costa and Frank Costa. She was a graduate of Medford High School.
Kay was the wife of the late Peter Alibrandi. She was the loving and dedicated mother to Anthony (Tony) Alibrandi and his wife Milan of Quincy, Frank Alibrandi and his wife Jeanmarie of Weymouth, Antoinette (Toni) Wilson and her husband Richard of Marshfield and Peter Alibrandi and his wife Michelle of Whitman; Kay was the proud and loving Gram to Anthony Alibrandi, Joseph Alibrandi, Michael Alibrandi, Kara Scalisi, Frank Alibrandi, Jenna Burns, Pete Wilson, Catherine Malone, Steven Alibrandi, and Holly Alibrandi. She was also the joyful, caring and fun Great Gram to 10 beautiful great grandchildren. Kay is also survived by her sister-in-law, Celia Alibrandi and several nieces and nephews. Kay's true love for her family was endless in so many ways and that was shown in everything she did, especially in her passion for cooking. Holiday meals and casual get-togethers were effortless and made with love; from her Italian meat sauce to her soft biscotti cookies and everything in between. She was an amazing cook and baker. Kay always put her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren first; she had a heart of gold and was always doing for others first and loving every minute of it. She will be deeply missed by all.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during visiting hours on Wednesday, October 18 from 4PM to 8PM at Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St, North Quincy.
