Catherine Elizabeth Badalamenti

Catherine Elizabeth (Carobrese) Badalamenti, 77, of Bloomfield, passed away on November 22, 2025. Born in Newark to the late Joseph and Lucille Carobrese, Catherine made Bloomfield her lifelong home. She began her career as a beautician and later owned and operated Fashion Encore Consignment Shop in Clifton, where her warmth and care touched everyone she met. But above all, her greatest joy was being a Mom.

Catherine was known for her kind and compassionate heart, bright smiling eyes, and her endlessly curious mind. She loved learning the stories of others, making a new friend everywhere she went. Her kitchen was always open, and her famous meatballs and chicken cutlets and holiday meals brought family and friends together.

She is the beloved mother of Daria Perez and her husband Alberto; Karie Badalamenti and her partner Vincent; Anthony Badalamenti and his wife Christina; and Thomas Lassen. Cherished grandmother of Alexander Perez, Nevaleigh Perez, and Lia Badalamenti. Dear sister of Phyllis Schriefer, Lucille Laird and her husband Robert, and the late Alan and Joseph Carobrese. Loving aunt of Lucy Segal, Richard Schriefer, Kristen Petullo, Beatrice Carobrese and the late Laura Lopez; and many great-nieces and nephews. She will be missed by her former husband and lifelong friend, Anthony Badalamenti.

Catherine will be remembered for her selfless heart, her generosity, and the joy she brought to all who knew her.

Visiting Tuesday November 25th from 4-8PM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday November 26th at 10AM at the funeral home. Entombment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in East Orange.
