Catherine Duke

Catherine Duke, 94, entered her eternal home with the Lord on Monday, March 2, 2026. She is reunited with her beloved husband, Eugene Duke, and her son, Steven Duke. She was preceded in death by her parents, H. Clay and Lillian C. Raper, and her sister, Lillian Summers.

A native of Norfolk, Catherine was an active member of the Northside Civic League and the TRIAD–SALT Council, and volunteered with the Norfolk Sheriff's Office Safety Print program. During the summer months she especially enjoyed TGOV and listening to Big Bands on the Bay at Ocean View Beach Park.

Most meaningful to Catherine was her long-time membership at St. John Lutheran Church. Over the years she faithfully served on the church council, the school board, and several committees. She deeply loved her church family and cherished the fellowship she found there.

Catherine will be remembered for her kindness, her faith, and the joy she found in spending time with family and friends.

She is survived by her dearly loved granddaughters, Nicolette Duke and Alyssa Duke; her great-granddaughter, Lexianna; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2026, at 12:30 p.m. at St. John Lutheran Church, 8918 Tidewater Dr., Norfolk, VA 23503, with Pastor Don Wilson officiating. Visitation and a reception will immediately follow the service. Family and friends who knew and loved Catherine are warmly invited to attend and celebrate her life.
