Catherine Marie Glass, born on August 2, 1943, in Coldwater, MI, passed away peacefully on August 24, 2025. She was a beloved daughter, devoted wife, cherished mother, adoring grandmother, and a great source of joy to many as a friend and community member.
Catherine was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Glass; her sister, Patricia; her great-grandson, Bentley Favot, and her mother, Verna Gallap. She is survived by her loving family, which includes her son Nathan (Nadia) Glass, and her daughters Kim Comai and Dawn (Tony) Derosa. Catherine also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Megan, Kaitlyn, Kevin, Michael, Brittany, Samantha, and Joseph. Additionally, her great-grandchildren Derrick, Abryana, and Eevee were among those who brightened her life.
Catherine was known for her vivacious personality and was incredibly devoted to her faith as a follower of Christ. She was very talkative, an extraverted individual who touched the hearts of many, earning her the affectionate title of “grandma” to numerous friends in her community. Her joyous spirit was infectious and she was highly regarded for her ability to listen and provide warmth to those around her.
An enthusiastic gardener, Catherine particularly loved tending to her yellow roses. She had an extraordinary talent for birdwatching, showing a keen interest in spotting turkeys and cranes. Additionally, she enjoyed watching University of Michigan football games as well as Detroit Tigers games, making sure to watch every game.
Catherine's role as a Sunday school teacher at the Salvation Army Church of Plymouth brought joy to many. Her fondness for pandas inspired many gifts from her grandchildren, showcasing the special bond shared between them. These memories, along with her bright personality, will live on in the hearts of her family and all who knew her.
Family and friends are invited to honor Catherine's life and contributions. Visitation will be held on August 27, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Schrader-Howell Funeral Home in Plymouth, MI. A funeral service will take place on August 28, 2025, beginning at 2:30 PM, following the visitation. Interment will be held at The Salvation Army Plymouth Corps Community Center.
Catherine Marie Glass will be remembered as a vibrant light who brought happiness and love to those fortunate enough to know her.
