Catherine Ann Grimes

Catherine Ann (Courtney) Grimes, 85, of Medway died October 13th at Milford Regional Medical Center with her family by her side following a brief illness.
Born in Boston, May 26, 1939, the daughter of the late Martin and Catherine (Johnson) Courtney, Catherine was raised in Brookline and moved to Medway in 1960.
She was a graduate of St. Elizabeth's Hospital School of Nursing and also received a Master's Degree from Assumption College.
A Registered Nurse, Catherine had worked at Milford Regional Medical Center for over 30 years as a nursing supervisor.
Following her retirement, she helped start The Center for Multiple Sclerosis at Milford Regional Medical Center.
Catherine enjoyed sewing, making quilts, gardening, and most of all being with her family and friends.
She is survived by her children, Donald P. Grimes and his wife Bonny of Franklin, Paul C. Grimes and longtime partner Maggie Woodward of Franklin and Kimberly A. Petrini and longtime partner Peter Cournoyer of Uxbridge.
She was the wife of the late Donald F. Grimes and the mother of the late Scott C. Grimes.
Catherine is also survived by her sister Mary Francis Turley of Hyde Park. She was the sister of the late Eileen Kiley and the late Theresa Courtney
She is also survived by her grandchildren, Leah, Loren, Matthew, Krystal, Kristopher, Kayla, Edward John "EJ", Bryan and Madison and her great-grandchildren, Riley, James, Billy, Michael, Charlie, Rori Kay, Wesley and Jaxon.
Her funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, October 21st at St. Joseph Church, Medway at 10:00 am
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, Medway.
Calling hours will be on Sunday from 4:00-7:00 pm at the Ginley Crowley Funeral Home 3 Barber Street, Medway.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to The Center for Multiple Sclerosis at Milford Regional Medical Center.
