Catherine "Nanny" Ella Marks, age 89, of the Little Creek Community, passed away on Sunday, December 1st, 2024, at her home, surrounded by her family. A native of Manhattan, NY, she was the daughter of the late James Armour Davis I and Catherine B. Nielsen Davis Schultheiss. She was preceded in death by her brother, James Armour Davis II, and his wife, Joan; and two sons: Stephen Marks and Paul Marks.
Catherine served as a teacher's assistant for many years for disabled children at the elementary level. This work ignited a passion in her to take care of disabled children. She was always taking care of others, and spent many years raising her grandchildren. She enjoyed crocheting, bowling and being outdoors. She also loved her dogs. She will be missed dearly by her family and friends.
She is survived by her two daughters: Elizabeth Marks of Texas and Claire Powell (Ralph) of the Little Creek Community; 10 grandchildren: Steven Clark, Heather Bibeau, Aleaha Divine, Christopher Cotton, Zachary Powell, Jamielee Nicholes, Stephanie Marks, Page Marks, Shannon Matthews and Kristin Marks; 18 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
