Cathy graduated from St. Patrick High School and pursued her passion for nursing, earning a registered nursing degree from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Scranton, PA, in 1956. She began her career as a private duty nurse and later specialized in OB/GYN nursing, earning admiration from both patients and colleagues. Cathy dedicated over four decades of her life to nursing.
A longtime member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Doylestown, Cathy contributed to the community through her involvement in the church choir, the Ladies of Mt. Carmel, a community comfort choir for area nursing homes, and the Doylestown Nature Club. Alongside her husband, she mentored released inmates from Bucks County Prison, aiding them in their journey to re-enter society.
Her zest for life extended beyond her professional and volunteer work. Cathy enjoyed tennis, sewing, gardening, and traveling. She regaled her family with stories of her globetrotting adventures to places like Poland, Italy, and Israel-destinations she could only dream of visiting as a child. She also satisfied her continued interest in learning by attending classes at Delaware Valley University through the program, Center for Learning in Retirement.
Cathy will be forever missed for her sensational hugs, unwavering strength, and boundless devotion to her children, grandchildren, nursing, and her faith. Her legacy of love, compassion, and service to others will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
