Catherine Ochoa Obituary
Cathy is survived by her parents, Jose Alejandro and Irma G. Ochoa; her siblings, Joe Alex (Julie) Ochoa and Sandra M. Ochoa; nephew, Jose Alejandro III; and nieces Audrey Marie Ochoa and Lauren Ann Ochoa; and Diana Mason, a special cousin and fierce protector. Also surviving her are an aunt, Sofia Castellano; and uncle, Alberto (Yolanda) Ochoa; and numerous cousins.
Cathy was a proud product of her community. After graduating from Edinburg High School, she went on to attend The University of Texas Pan American (now UTRGV). Driven by a desire to serve others, she earned her Bachelor's degree in Social Work. Her career was more than just a job; it was an extension of her compassionate nature, providing a voice for the vulnerable and support for those in need.
To know Cathy was to know a love that was fierce and unwavering. She was the heart of her circle, protecting and cheering for her family and friends with a loyalty that knew no bounds. She loved to dance, loved family gatherings and sporting events. Her favorite teams were the Dallas Cowboys and Houston Astros.
Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. with a 6 p.m. rosary Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. A mass will take place Thursday, March 12, 2026 at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
