Obituary of Catherine Ann Olson
Catherine (Cathy) Ann Olson resident of Maple Grove, MN and former resident of Westminster, CO passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 17th at North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale, MN at the age of 82 years old. She is preceded by death of her husband, Lowell Thomas (Tom) Olson and son Kalle Thomas Olson. Tom and Cathy were married for 61 years with 4 children Sonja, Ingrid, Erik and Kalle.
Cathy was born in Hays, Kansas the daughter of Regina Pfeifer and Jacob Pfeifer and 1 of 14 children. For over 40 years Cathy worked at JCPenny's where she enjoyed her love for retail. Cathy was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother first and foremost. She treasured her children/grandchildren and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as Oma!
She is known for her love of the Christmas season. This was a time that her family got together, played Christmas music, wore matching pajamas, opened "calendar presents" and made blissful memories year after year. She loved listening to music and spending time with family and friends and was one of the Jackpot Grandmas.
Cathy is survived by her children Sonja (Curtiss) Carr, Ingrid (Darwin) Kouns, and Erik (Kristi) Olson; grandchildren JamieLynn Cooner, JessicaLee Moman, Jason Gorski, Curtiss Carr, Ashley Crosh, Darwin Kouns Jr., Kristina Schaeffer, Michael Schaeffer, Allyson Kouns, Blake Olson, and Evan Olson; great grandchildren Ashleigh LeClaire, Taylor Shelite, Paige Shelite, Charlie Gorski, Catherine Gorski, Hudson Moman, Alexander Moman, Bentleigh Schaeffer, Addison Schaeffer, Camden Crosh, Amelia Crosh and Lincoln Crosh; and a great-great grandchild Skyler LeClaire. Her brother Ralph, her sisters Alice, Charlotte and Rozanne and many nephews and nieces, all of these she loved and touched deeply.
Please join us for a Funeral Mass on Saturday, March 26th at 9:30 am at Saint John the Evangelist Catholic Parish at 1730 W 12 St in Loveland Colorado. Immediately followed by burial at City of Loveland Burial Park at Colorado Hwy 287, 1702 Cleveland Ave in Loveland Colorado. A Christmas celebration is planned after the services at Windgate of Windham in Johnstown, CO. Flowers can be sent to Saint John the Evangelist Church.
