Catherine Pavone

Catherine Pavone, lovingly known as Teena, went to God's care on October 28, 2025. Teena was the daughter of Andrew and Aphrodite Vanech. A lifelong resident of Brooklyn, NY, Teena and her husband of 56 years, Bill Pavone, moved to Virginia Beach to be closer to her family. Teena is survived by her husband Bill, daughter Nicole Smith her husband Graham Smith, son Billy Pavone his wife Jessica Pavone, sister Toni King, brother, Alex Vanech his wife Ellen Vanech, and by her sister in law Nancy Pavone and her husband Glen Cross. She had five beloved grandchildren, Cameron, Paige, and Riley Smith, Soula and Pascale Pavone. She is also survived by cherished nephew Andrew Vanech.
Teena's great passions were her family, the church and her garden. She was a loyal parishioner of Sts. Constantine & Helen church in Brooklyn. She loved to be outdoors and spent countless hours tending to her award-winning flowers.
Teena was a successful realtor and a guest relations specialist for the Marriott Corporation.
There has never been a more loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, yiayia, aunt and friend than Teena. She will be dearly missed and remain alive in the memories of all who loved her.
The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 PM on Monday November 3, 2025 in St Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, 621 First Colonial Rd in Virginia Beach with the Funeral service to begin at 2:00 PM following the visitation. Her interment will be private at a later date.
The family requests those who which to express sympathy to consider donating to Interim Healthcare and Hospices, St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, or the Alzheimer's Association in lieu of flowers. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Laskin Rd Chapel is handling arrangements.
