Catherine Reynolds Obituary
Cathy graduated from Ithaca High School in 1972, where she was a social butterfly, and pursued further education at Corning & Tompkins Cortland Community Colleges. She devoted many years to her career as a Licensed Practical Nurse, touching lives from Lakeside Nursing Home to Dr. Dugan & Dr. Zelko's Orthopedic office to Cornell University's Gannett Health Center, from which she retired.
Beyond her professional life, Cathy enjoyed shopping, baking, and spending quality time with her family. Her presence & open home always brought warmth and joy to every gathering.
Cathy is survived by her loving husband of 41 years, Dave Reynolds; daughters, Amy (Tyler) Hopkins and Kelly (Thomas) Bishop; grandchildren, Madelyn, Shane, Maxwell, Alison, Colton, and Jackson; sisters, Pat (Les) House, Colleen (Rick) Tubbs; in-laws, Raymond (Debbie) Reynolds, Michael (Julie) Reynolds, Lisa (Carmen) Ciaschi; several nieces and nephews that she loved & treated as her own, many cousins & dear friends. She also leaves behind her last beloved fur-baby, Tilly Jane. Cathy was preceded in death by her parents, Leon and Teresa Spencer, and her in-laws, Jim and Beverly Reynolds.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to: the Tompkins County SPCA in memory of Cathy's love for animals (except squirrels) and/or to the Baylor Scott & White All Saints Health Foundation online at allsaintsfoundation.bswhealth.com or by mail at 1400 8th Avenue, Fort Worth, TX 76104, who took great care of Cathy this past year.
Calling hours will be at Bangs Funeral Home, 209 W Green St, Ithaca, NY 14850, Wednesday September 11th, 2024 from 11am - 1pm; services to immediately follow.

When I read her obit I laughed at the way Cathy was described as a "social butterfly " in high school. That is certainly the way I remember Cathy. Condolences to her family.

Cathy had a smile that would light up a room. She was a delight to be around and she made everyone she met feel better with her positive spirit

Cathy and I worked together at Lakeside nursing home and we had such fun together. I was one of the first she told when she and Dave got engaged. We had our first born children together pretty much. I had recently reconnected with her moving to San Diego, it was so nice to hear that beautiful calm voice again. My heart aches for her family. Rest well my friend. Flo
