Catherine Whitt Richards

Catherine Whitt Richards, beloved wife, mother, grandmomma, and faithful servant of the Lord, passed peacefully into eternal rest on April 16, 2025, at the age of 83.
Born on November 15, 1941, Catherine devoted her life to her family, her faith, and her church. She was the cherished wife of Donald M. Richards, her husband of 68 years and longtime pastor of Corinth Baptist Church, where she was an active and devoted member for 53 years. Together, they built a legacy of love, service, and faith that continues through generations.
Catherine's life was centered around her family. She is lovingly survived by her children: Debbie Hill (Bennie), Donna Taggart, and Jeff Richards (Lisa); her treasured grandchildren: Jeremy Wallace (Beth), Tonya Simmons (Todd), Tracy Dove (Trent), Brittany McLendon (Chris), Jacob Richards, and Cameron Burkett (Matt); 14 great-grandchildren: Jessica, Audrey, Jackson, Olivia, Cody, Gage, Ledger, Jordyn, Parker, Blane, Ava, Amelia, Tristan, and Cillian; and 3 great-great-grandchildren: Jaxon, Lexi, and Kashton. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Cheray Whitt and several beloved nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Jewell and Annie Lou Whitt, her stepmother Vongetta Whitt, her brothers Gene Wilburn and Terry Whitt, sisters Wanda Connor and Martha Stancil, and her granddaughter Elizabeth "Nichole" Wallace.
Catherine will be remembered for her warmth, strength, and unwavering devotion to her family and church community. She was a guiding light, always ready with a kind word, a heartfelt prayer, and a hug that could make the world feel right again. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will live on in the many lives she touched.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 18, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Corinth Baptist Church, 3156 Langley Rd SW, Loganville, GA 30052. An additional visitation will be held on Saturday, April 19 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM, also at Corinth Baptist Church. Interment will take place on Monday, April 21, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Eternal Hills Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Catherine's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, a cause close to her heart.
Though our hearts are heavy, we rejoice in knowing she is now resting in the presence of her Savior. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
