Catherine Ann Smith

Catherine Ann Smith, 85, passed away Sunday, March 29, 2026 at Old Orchard Nursing and Respiratory Center, Toledo, OH. She was born on June 3, 1940 to John and Iva (Moore) Truby, in Bradford, PA. She later graduated from Bradford High School. She was blessed with two children from a previous marriage. She found love again, and married Herman C. Smith who later passed away in December of 1985.

Besides being a homemaker, Catherine also worked as a caseworker for the Lucas County Department of Welfare for ten plus years.

She is survived by her son, Bill (Paula) Graffius Jr., of Perrysburg. Grandchildren: William (Jenny) Graffius III of Rossford, Julie (Andrew) Jarrett of Perrysburg, great-grandchildren: Billy, Zac, Drew, Colin, Emmitt, and sister, Esther Painter of PA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman, parents, daughter, Jill Graffius, and brother, Jack Truby.

Graveside Services will be at 1 p.m., Friday, April 3, 2026 where she will be laid to rest next to her daughter Jill, in Troy Township Cemetery, Luckey, OH. Officiating will be, Pr. Tim Philabaum. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials take the form of contributions to: The Kidney Foundation of Northwest Ohio.
