Catherine L. Thomas

Catherine Lee Thomas went home to Jesus on August 5, 2023 at the Rochester Manor after a brief illness. Cathy was the daughter of Joseph C. and Kay (Kay) Thomas. She was a lifelong resident of Monaca and attended Monaca School district. She was a member of the Monaca Methodist Church where she sang in the choir for many years, and thoroughly enjoyed Sunday School. As a child, Cathy was active in Girl Scouts and participated in playground activities with other children in Monaca. Cathy enjoyed swimming.
In later years, Cathy worked at the Help a Person and BCRC programs. She was an avid football fan, especially the Steelers!! She also cheered for the University of Alabama, Monaca and later Central Valley. Cathy enjoyed crafts and frequently accompanied her mother to demonstrations and craft shows. Cathy was a loyal fan of Glen Campbell and attended the Pittsburgh show on his farewell tour.
In addition to her parents, Cathy was preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph C. and Gary Thomas, Sr. She is survived by her nephew Charles Thomas (Paula Lenox) with whom she always shared a special bond, and who cared for her since her mother's death. Also surviving are sisters-in-laws Rosemary and Diana Thomas of Beaver Falls as well as nieces Lori (Kenneth) Feltrop, Tracy (Jeff) Huber and nephew Gary Thomas, Jr., great nieces and nephews as well as great-great nieces and nephews also survive.
There will be no visitation or service. Those who wish, may make a memorial contribution in Cathy's name to the Monaca Methodist Church, 813 Indiana Avenue, Monaca, PA or to the family for help with final expenses.
