Catherine Ward Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Bacon Funeral Home on Jan. 19, 2025.
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Catherine (Cathy) Ward, beloved mother, wife, aunt, and cherished friend, who passed away on Friday January 17, 2025 at the age of 78.
Cathy was the wife of David R. Ward (Bob) and the proud mother of their sons, Richard and James Ward. She and James shared an incredibly close bond, and their
relationship was a cornerstone of her life. Cathy's love and devotion to James were evident in every moment they shared. Together, they even hosted a bluegrass radio show, a tradition that brought them both joy and allowed them to share their passion for music with others. Cathy was incredibly proud of this special connection with her son. Cathy was the daughter of Louise Davoll and Arthur F. Davoll Sr., a respected figure in Lebanon, CT, who passed away in 2002. Her father, the owner of the Clock Shop, was well-known for his service to the community, including his work as president of the Douglas Manor Patient Association and his role as a state-appointed ombudsman for patient rights.
In addition to her family, Cathy had many talents that she cherished. She loved photography and had a keen eye for capturing moments that she cherished. Her love
for bluegrass music brought her great joy. Cathy was also known for her exceptional sewing skills, knitting, jewelry making and made beautiful, handmade items that reflected her creativity and meticulous attention to detail that will forever be remembered by family.
She leaves behind her husband, David (Bob) Ward; her son, James Ward, her nieces, Tammy, Ronda and Connie, and Maureen and her dear cousin Susan Coutu; her nephews, Lloyd and Shane, and her sister-in-law Kathleen Chapman; her half brother, Arthur Davoll, Jr. and many more family members and friends who will remember her fondly. She was predeceased by her mother and father, her son Richard, and her stepmother, Pauline Davoll; her brother Charles Davoll; her step sister Lillian Adams and stepbrother Bill Chapman. She was also predeceased by an infant daughter Rita.
A private memorial service will be held for family and close friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a charity of your choice in Cathy's memory She will be deeply missed, but her memory will be forever cherished.
