Ann Bushey Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Bacon Funeral Home on Feb. 10, 2026.
Ann M. Bushey, age 80, passed away peacefully at home on February 10, 2026 surrounded by her loving family.

Ann was born in Taftville, Connecticut on May 26, 1945, the daughter of the late Arthur and Laurette Belisle. In August of 1963 she married Edward (Bill) Bushey in Willimantic, Connecticut. They lived in Willimantic for 37 years where they raised their three daughters. Together they made sure that family and friends were paramount and instilled that in their children and grandchildren. Ann served her community for 39 years, serving as Town Clerk for several of those years before retiring in 2007.

Ann is survived by her loving daughters, Christine Bushey and her partner Jim Cassidy, Kathleen and husband, Ross Ellison, Wendy and husband, Steven O'Connor and her beloved grandchildren, William, Abigail O'Connor and partner Gabriel Maxwell. Ann was predeceased by her loving husband, Edward Bushey; her brother, Norman Belisle and sister-in-law Irene and beloved cousin, Lorraine Patrick.

Ann's family would like to thank all that helped with this difficult journey. Especially our cousin, Barbara McKinney who remained by our side through it all.

A Mass will be celebrated on Friday Feb 20, at 10AM at St. Mary Church 46 Valley St, Willimantic. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimers Association CT Chapter (alz.org) To send an online expression of sympathy, please visit www.baconfh.com

To Kathy, Chris, Wendy and families, I extend my deepest sympathy. It was a blessing to know your Mom when I was barely a teenager and to reconnect with her as an adult when I worked at a Willimantic law office. I was also part of her Relay for Life Team. My favorite memory of her is when Brian couldn't make it to our wedding rehearsal (military reasons) and your Mom took the marriage license home with her so he could sign it in front of her and we could be legally married the next day. We were so grateful. She was a wonderful woman.

I have known Mrs B since 2nd grade, that's when i met Kathy and the Bushey's treated me like one of their own. So giving, so caring, so honest. I feel fortunate to have had her as a part of my life.

The last time I saw Ann was in front of Saint Joseph´s church after a funeral mass for someone we both knew. I was no longer living in town and it was so nice talking to her even for a short time. That´s when we realize life passes too quickly and loosing touch is such a loss. Sympathy to her family. Lurline Herrick Gardner.

I worked with Ann at the Windham Town Hall. What a lovely, kind lady who is finally at rest.
